Arpad Dynasty coins 1001–1301 – early Hungarian issues
The Arpad period marks the birth of Hungarian coinage. Early denars, obols and thin bracteates vary by ruler and mint, often with subtle die differences. We highlight legend varieties, cross and lily motifs and scarcer die sides, with references to Huszar and Unger numbers and key auction parallels.
Collect chronologically from Stephen I to Andrew III or assemble a thematic set focusing on sacred imagery, heraldic elements or mints. Patina and centering strongly affect appearance and are documented in our photos.
Each piece is checked for authenticity and metal quality. We are happy to advise beginners on common forgeries and basic conservation.
